Performance Day Video

Thank you Andrew Hawryshkewich for putting together this beautiful video of our performance day

Thank you for an amazing day!

It was so great to see it all come together, and to share our love of art with those around us.

We can’t say THANK YOU enough to those who came out and performed, volunteered and supported us through this project (Kensington Community Centre Association and The Vancouver Park Board). You guys are amazing. And a special THANK YOU to Sophie, our Kensington liaison extraordinaire.

There were lots of photographers at the event and we are starting to collect the images on a flicr page to share them. If you would like to post your images on the Habitat 2012 site, please email them to and we would be happy to post them for you there. We already have a great set up from Sol, the digital photography instructor at Kensington.

Here is a taste:

Here are some of the comments from audience members, feel free to send us comments on this site or by email if you have anything you’d like to add about your experience as a performer, volunteer or guest.

We hope you are feeling inspired to create art and to share it, as we could all feel, it makes our community vibrant and our habitat healthy.

Playshops this week

A big thank you to those who came out to play on Wednesday night. It was great to meet you, move about, get creative and inspired for Habitat. For those who couldn’t make it out on Wednesday, come join us this Saturday March 31st for another Playshop (2-4pm in the dance room upstairs), or Sunday April 1st (2:30-4:30pm in the multi-purpose room) for water puppet construction and scene painting.

Workshop Schedule Announced

We are still deciding when would be a good time to hold the dryland synchronized swimming practices.

If you want to participate, send us a note telling us when is good for you.

See this link below for inspiration, its going to be fun!

First Encounters

A big thank you to Sophie for organizing the Heart and Stroke Foundation fundraiser! It was great to meet some new friends in lobby and have a chance to be active with you in the pool.

Some of you contributed very thoughtful answers to our question:

“What makes a healthy community or Habitat?”

We’ll be looking at those answers as we work together on this project. If you have any other ideas about this you can add your answer to the yellow poster we left up in the lobby, or send in your comments below.

Here are a few photos from the event.
